About Us

Our tranquil mountain studios are the perfect location for high quality, low noise files. We produce all kinds of audio for all kinds of clients from film, TV and audio books to telephone messages, apps and games. All our voiceovers, delivered in MP3, .WAV or AIFF formats, are sent via our secure server which means they are accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I love communication, both written and spoken, so I think I have the dream job. It's been that way since I first started out as a telephone operator with BT and a civilian controller in the police force, where clear telephone and radio procedure was a must. My love of travel then took me on a different course; selling holidays and training a team who worked alongside me. In all these positions clear, precise communication and a 'way with people' won me awards as well as opportunities to travel the world. It also gave me the opportunity to come face to face with one of the most endangered species on the planet, the Mountain Gorilla. It was a dream come true and an extemely special moment in my life, especailly as one of them tried to communicate by giving me a good shaking, not an affect I have on everyone thankfully. Back in the real world, my role as the Visitor Services Manager for a busy National Trust property not only kept me on my toes, but also had me communicating at every level from children right up to WWI veterans, foreign visitors and tricky historians.

So why is Words of Wisdom my dream job? Because I get to communicate with some great people, not only that, I'm learning new things and refreshing my knowledge every day. No two days are the same for me. One day it might be a medical e-learning course, something on food hygiene, or even an airline announcement, another it may be a phone message, a sales video or a documentary for one of my favourite charities. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life.

Sound engineering has been my passion since the age of 10. As a live sound engineer, I have worked with a variety of renowned artists from stage, TV and the music industry.

As a young lad, brought up in rural Herefordshire countryside I found my voice providing the commentary at local gymkhanas; I preferred to be operating and announcing in the PA box, instead of sitting on the horse! In the 80’s, I was a hospital radio presenter, then moved on to be a DJ on the largest land based pirate station in the UK, Sunshine Radio. I was also there when the ‘pirates’ became legal a little later on. As well as sound and electronic engineering, I worked for around 5 years in financial services. That taught me to know a hedge fund from a unit trust. I am a keen adventure traveller, and love challenges. I’ve trekked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, have driven across the Namib desert, and backpacked across Africa, to name a few places.

Words of Wisdom allows me to weave all my spoken, business, adventure travel and engineering skills all together, to produce high quality voiceovers for clients all over the globe. I have been glad to help small businesses find accountants, or money to start up in business, have voiced wildlife documentaries for TV, have described atomic structure to students in Universities, have promoted high tech robots to dispense medication in Germany, and have been asked to be loads of character voices from a posh talking cat for an Xbox game, to a hotel butler.

I really do enjoy my work, every project is unique to me, and will be waiting for your next challenge today.
